You may run into issues with the test strips. Below are some possible problems and ways to fix them.

 

The test strips cannot be inserted

The glucometer does not respond to the test strip

The glucometer doesn't respond to the sample in the test strip

 



The test strips cannot be inserted

  1. Verify that iGlucose Strips are used and within expiration date. If incorrect or expired, do not continue to use them.
  2. Inspect the test strips for damage. If they are damaged or contaminated, do not continue to use them.
  3. Retest with a new test strip. Please follow the instructions on how to take a glucose test for the proper procedure.



The glucometer does not respond to the test strip

  1. Verify that the meter is turned on.
  2. Confirm that the battery has been charged for a minimum of 2 hours.
  3. Confirm that the correct brand of strip is used.
  4. Verify that iGlucose Strips are used and within expiration date. If incorrect or expired, do not continue to use them.
  5. Inspect the test strips for damage. If they are damaged or contaminated, do not continue to use them.
  6. Confirm that the test strip was inserted in the correct way:
    a) Insert the test strip properly by holding the right textured side of test strip so the strip is horizontal.
    b) Insert the test strip straight down into the test strip port. (There is a small arrow that shows the direction the test strip should be inserted).
    c) Wait for “Apply a drop of blood” to appear on the screen before applying the sample.
  7. Retest with a new test strip. Please follow the instructions on how to take a glucose test for the proper procedure. 



The glucometer doesn't respond to the sample in the test strip

  1. Verify that iGlucose Strips are used and within expiration date. If incorrect or expired, do not continue to use them.
  2. Inspect the test strips for damage. If they are damaged or contaminated, do not continue to use them.
  3. Retest with a new test strip. Please follow the instructions on how to take a glucose test for the proper procedure. 
  4. If unsuccessful, perform a quality check with control solution.
