Scales - How to take an accurate weight measurement on your scale
Our scales benefit from the proprietary Position Control Technology that helps indicate to the user when their weight is not sufficiently balanced. The arrows are there to offer guidance to allow you to take the most accurate measurement.
Here are some usage tips below:
If you see arrows on your scale while you're weighing in, try to lean in the direction indicated to stabilize your weight. If you see arrows on all four corners, it may be that you're moving too much on the scale. We advise that you discard measurements when that happens.
Ensure you are weighing yourself around the same time to improve the consistency of your measurements.
If you use your scale on a carpet, make sure you use the carpet feet. The carpet feet may not be enough depending on the thickness of your carpet. Try weighing on a hard floor to see if the problem comes from the carpet.
Note: If you are using the scale on a hardwood floor, please make sure that you do not have the carpet feet attached, as these can impact the accuracy.
For Body Pro 2, Body Smart, or Body Comp scales, please ensure you are following these guidelines:

Ensure you are following the measurement guidelines for taking a measurement below:
- Clean the surface of the scale* and ensure it is free of lint and debris
- Moisten the display of the scale with a dampened cloth just before the measurement
- Stand barefoot on the scale.
- Do not speak or move at all during the measurements.
- Place your hands on a nearby wall to stabilize yourself
- Ensure the scale is not next to any other electronic devices, wall socket or floor heating systems as these can cause interference.
*Important: The surface of the scale should only be cleaned with water and a lint-free cloth. Ensure that you do not use any detergents (such as soaps, glass cleaners, etc) as this can damage the electrical components that run through the glass of the scale, which allow body composition measurements to be taken.
